With all the recalls on pet food and human food, we must be more careful than ever when it comes to what we put in our bodies and out pets bodies. As if all the food recalls were not enough, the government has just issued a warning about toothpaste containing poison chemicals. That is scary as even our toddlers use toothpaste. Then on top of that the Colgate Palmolive Company has put out a warning about toothpaste that contains poison chemicals being sold under the name of colgate that is actually counterfeit. Can you believe it?

According to the Federal Citizen Information Center “The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned consumers to avoid using tubes of toothpaste labeled as made in China, and issued an import alert to prevent toothpaste containing the poisonous chemical diethylene glycol (DEG) from entering the United States.” You can read more about this here.
According to the Food and Drug Administration “The Colgate-Palmolive Company warned that counterfeit toothpaste falsely packaged as 'Colgate' has been found in several dollar-type discount stores in four states: New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. There are indications that this product does not contain fluoride and may contain Diethylene Glycol. The Company stated that it does not use, nor has ever used, Diethylene Glycol as an ingredient in Colgate toothpaste anywhere in the world. The counterfeit toothpaste can be easily recognized because it is labelled as 'Manufactured in South Africa.' Colgate does not import toothpaste into the United States from South Africa. In addition, the counterfeit packages examined so far have several misspellings including: 'isclinically' 'SOUTH AFRLCA' 'South African Dental Assoxiation'“ You can read more about this here.

They are deceiving many people and it is dangerous.
I cannot believe this is happening. If they knew it why has it not been stopped? I am upset over this. Makes me wonder about the government even more than I have been.
One would think that it would have been in all the papers, news broadcasts and radio news. I had not heard about it. I travel alot and listen to the radio. I am very concerned.

That is was concerns me most. We dont know about alot that goes on. They seem to keep is secret until it will benefit them in some way before they tell us.

Evidently the colgate was not even real colgate but a counterfeit. Why are we paying our elected officials to do??? they are not looking out for our interests.

Diols and polyols
Diethylene glycol is one of several diols (hydrocarbon containing two alcohol groups). It is derived from ethylene oxide and is described with the formula HO-CH2-CH2(-O-CH2-CH2)n-OH:

Like ethylene glycol, a solution of diethylene glycol and water is used as a coolant. DEG is also a building block in organic synthesis, e.g. of morpholine and 1,4-dioxane. It is a solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, dyes, oils, and other organic compounds. It is a humectant for tobacco, cork, printing ink, and glue. It can be also found in some hydraulic fluids and brake fluids.
In personal care products (e.g. skin cream and lotions, deodorants) DEG is often substituted by the much less toxic diethylene glycol ethers. In People's Republic of China, use of diethylene glycol in toothpaste is allowed.
Diethylene glycol is also illegally used as counterfeit glycerin in some nations and sold internationally as a component of cough syrup and toothpaste. [1]
