Page-a-Day: Forward Motion

Forward Motion is the best message board I've found for novelists who want to join an enthusiastic, helpful writing community of working professionals. Though there's a big emphasis on science fiction, I feel equally at home there writing historical novels, and writing for teens and children.

There are many motivational activities and challenges to help novelists keep writing, such as writing and editing marathons every weekend. The site is equally useful for beginning wannabe novelists, and for those with years of novel writing experience.

Site Administrator Lazette Gifford is a friendly and knowledgeable science fiction author, plus publisher and editor of the site's outstanding online writing magazine, Vision. Holly Lisle, another science fiction author, started Forward Motion nine years ago. It has been an inspiration and motivation to thousands of novel writers since then.
