Carla and Marla- two beautiful young teenagers were the talk of their community. Energetic, enthusiastic, talented---there was no end to their assets. From little on the University had followed their growth because at birth neither one was expected to live. Much to the surprise of the community, of which the University was the center, they both survived and were now teenagers. What talent!
The University began a study and when cloning became the subject of conversation the University decided they had the prefect candidate- - -
The twins were contacted and both agreed they would follow through with the experiment. The Unversity sent in their names- - - all tests were preformed and it was a go. The only decision that needed to be made as yet was which girl would they use. Psychological testing completed they decided on Marla for her personality was a little more pleasant than Carla. The date and time was set. 3:00 AM Monday morning.
Mom and Dad were elated because they had always felt the girls were special and now to have more Marlas and Carlas in the world- - - well they just knew it would be a better world to live in.
Monday morning around 1:30 AM Marla got sick- waking Carla they greed to switch beds.....Around 2:30 AM Mom came in to wake Marla, not realizing it was Carla, took her to the University where the team was prepared for the cloning. Right on schedule- - - everything went to perfection.
Years went by and the University and the community slowly began to decline - - - something was amiss. Try though they may no one could figure it out- - - only Carla and Marla knew. And now as they sit in their rockers by the fire place one can hear Carla say as she moves the logs around " dump fire- almost out" and Marla smiles and says "nice fire, warms the soul."
