Stop sharing your fireworks photos

I only give members of my moderated groups a couple of chances!  If they keep posting material that doesn't belong, I delete them from the group!  Problem solved!

I think I am going to star taking notes and doing the same thing.

An occasional off topic content doesn't bother me. But when I get flooded with non relevant photos...well, it does more than bug me.

I have this problem YEAR ROUND, not just with firework photos. I have people posting photos of their kids to a group designated for graves and videos of ny to my playdoh group. It's all messed up.

Yeah, in my groups. But it always seems wore after a holiday. Have you ever noticed that?

Yeah I've noticed that on occasion they post hundreds of holiday ones.

I generally delete them and give them three chances. After that point I delete them. If they do it to ALL my groups (there were a few like that) I just delete them after the second offense because it's insane to delete the same 70 photos from ALL my 20 groups.

you mean they dont go in the my cool contests group...HAHA

i just delete the members if they do it more then a few times.

I think I am going to stat doing that. Makes me wonder if the people doing it will even relaize it.

I have even gotten a few in my receipe group...I dont open them....I decline and move on the accept the recipes!

So much for being able to post whatever pleases one's self or what makes them happy.  I, myself, delight in seeing them.  They are happy and make smiles for me.  I guess to each his own...I will keep looking at all of the fireworks...so keep posting them...if not for anyone else but me.

Karen, it's not that, but rather that groups with THEMES are to be respected, not generalized as a post it all group.

Then I agree...If there are groups out there with themes and this isn't on the list...by all means don't post things that don't go there.  I am sorry that I didn't see that part.  Forgive me for spouting off.  I love Minipin and her articles and photos.

I love seeing the fireworks. But refuse to look at anyones who decides they have to add 70 pictures to a recipe, dog or even a nature group. Unless there is something that goes with the theme, then t firework don't belong.

You are so right.  I guess I didn't pay as much attention as I thought I did.  Fireworks or anything else have their place and we should all respect it.

I guess alot of people got fireworks snapping happy and then forgot to check what groups would welcome them.

I think you are right.

Another good reason for me NOT to have a group.  I've seen other people complaining about similar problems. I think the solution of removing someone from the group if they continue to do it is about the only way to deal with it.

I am going to do that.

while i like the fireworks pics, it drives me INSANE when people post their stuff in the wrong groups. To me it is inconsiderate. There are a lot of post anything groups, use them. I partially blame the moderates for not being harder on their contributers. I would be harsh and delete it, but I would probably tell them why.

I am going to delete them ifit happens again. I won't tell them. I have tried hat before. Some people arenice an realize they made a mistake. Others have gotten nasty about it.

I agree. It's very frustrating moderating a group when people post irrelevant content to it. I've sent out a group email, and my next step will be to send a private message to the people who continue to "offend." After that, they will be deleted from the group.
