For the past 18 days I have been inflicted with diarrhea. I have tried fasting and over the counter medication to rid myself of this without success. My doctor told me to go to the hospital lab and give a "sample", oh joy! He thought I may have a parasite, giardiasis, or ecoli. The test took 48 hours.
The results should have been in by Wednesday afternoon. After not hearing anything from the doctor by Thursday I called the office. The test was negative. The nurse asked if I was still having diarrhea and what I had tried to stop it. I repeated the methods that I had done that were not successful including a BRAT diet. They wanted me to come into the office on Saturday, but it is my weekend to work so that was out of the question. The doctor decided call in a prescription to my pharmacy on Thursday. I couldn't get back to town before the pharmacy closed. I went in today to pick it up and to my dismay it was closed today so I have to wait until tomorrow to pick it up.
Until then I sit and wait....Mostly on the throne, but it is the safest place to be under the circumstances.

I hope you are soon to be on the mend and won't have to write another crappy article!
.
I am always reluctant to give myself or my daughter anything for diarrhea in case it is a bug that needs to work its way out! Taking Pepto Bismol or similar will stop you up, but once it wears off, you could still have the same situation.
There are 3 basic variants -
Constipation predominant
Diarrhea predominant
and
some kind of combination of these two
+++NOT+++ fun for sure.
Gatorade and the like have a lot of sugars - which CAN aggravate or trigger diarrhea.
You might try eating some constipation triggering foods - to slow it down, so to speak.
My final symptom when I got diagnosed was when they asked me to describe ALL my abdominal symptoms in laymans terms.
When I told them it felt like I had a few ferrets wrestling in my gut just before a "D" episode.....I got a strange look and a laugh from the Dr - but it finally gave me an answer.
I did not go to the doctor, I started eating yogurt and just kept myself hydrated.
I'm not making light of your condition, been there. I am making light that thankfully to today's technology you're able to share it so vividly with us.
So how many rolls of tp did you sacrifice in the creation of this article?
But the problem is terrible. Tomorrow will be your day ... so there's no advice I can give you on over the countrer meds. I certainly hope the meds stop it ... and stop it permanently.
you've already tried that. Make sure you are staying hydrated or you can get into big trouble.

Recurrent diarrhea is sometimes one of the first signs of HIV infection/AIDS. For someone who is at risk for HIV infection to have this symptom, that person should see a doctor right away.
Your email called it straight. (I was thinking a ploy to bring readers to your article. (This is a comment link for A Stone's Throw Away. It was written for you're entertainment. Don't click this link until you're in the mood to be entertained.)
We have all been through this at some time and lived to tell the tale. I hope your doctor can find the cause and treat it successfully. One thing that might cheer you up for now is to weigh yourself. If you've wanted to lose weight, chances are good that you have, by now!
Now I know how to lose weight. LOL.
My Dad's Mom was a Cherokee and she spent much time in the woods and fields finding dinner and medicine fr the family.
Her favorite remedy for this was to scald a pan a milk and scrap burt toat over it ( so you would get the black parts into your milk). Drink down a glass of that and go to bed. We were ALWAYS better the next day.
Again, I don't know why or how it works, but it is worth a try.
I hope you feel better soon.
Email me and Let me know if this works for you - please.

I love your opening sentence, major attention grabber.
And, whether you intended to or not, the humor shows through here. That you may just be laughing at yourself.
Hopefully, your problem resolves itself soon.
Today was a much better day and I can almost finally say that the battle is over.
but by your last comment, everything seems to be getting back to regular...that's really good.....I coulnd't imagine being afflicted for that long....
