We, The Sheeple

I hear the voices of the many,
But the truths they offer are few,
So many talking,
So many hawking,
Their truth to sell to you,
But the truth of it all,
Isn't new,
And the process so foul,
Little truth gets through.

Our presses bought,
By highest bidder, naught,
To ever 'gain print the truth.
This we call freedom,
But not decided,
In any damn voting booth.

It's a matter of wealth.
Evil born in true stealth,
And if a glimmer we see,
Voice of truth,
Stamp it out while they can,
"So uncouth!"

Ridicule, and sad ties,
To two parties of lies,
And we think ourselves,
Clever and smug,
It's a hole we too willingly dug,
But we're the sheeple,
Ours to turn head,
And but shrug....

This is good...and sadly true. I have this feeling that this Obama/Clinton thing is going to get strange. I think he will win the delegates, but just by a small amount. The Super Delegates (whoever they are) will get to decide the nomination, and they have already said they will vote for HC, so she will get the nod even though Obama would have won. Deja Vu? There shouldn't be Super Delegates. I actually think Huckabee is the most honest of the batch, but way too weird for me and much too straight laced for my taste. close

David Sirota, over at the Huffington post has been writing about a nationwide, albeit local level effort to get super delegates to honor the popular vote in their districts. I don't know how successful he has been, or the movement is, but the democratic party should try being democratic, in my view. They vote in Hillary, and Obama wins the popular, and they'll split this party wide open.

This may be the first year that I don't bother to vote (since I turned 18) because I really feel like my vote doesn't count anyway. A Fox Newswoman was interviewing this guy (sorry I don't have names) and the man said that they created superdelegates to 'get around Teddy Kennedy' when he was attempting to run against Mondale. So they apparently can fix it any way they like. And the woman interviewing him said it clearly: the delegates don't have to pay attention to the popular vote, they can vote in who they like. So whatthef***??????
