It's been snowing here on and off all day. The snow is pretty before it get's flawed with foot and paw prints... How is your night going and what sort of day did you have?
I've been mindlessly rolling about most of the day...from one spot to another. Watched a movie with hubby, took a nap, fed myself and The Boys...reading Gather articles..commenting...
I don't watch Lost Marianne as I'm sure I would be lost trying to catch up with it, the few times I've surfed on to it I was like...What.....is...this???

No brownies for me, my tooth is killing me. I just stopped in to say hi. I have an early dentist appointment and I'm hoping they'll pull it or them. I am scared to death but after actually getting the pliers out of my toolbox last night and thinking about pulling it myself, I'm ready! have a positive thought for me.
It's an amazing universe. I've always had a spark of interest along those lines. If we can manage as a species not to destroy ourselves and the planet, perhaps we'll yet get to explore beyond our solar system.
I so wish I could really travel the Universe, go where ever I wanted...see it all...it's just so amazingly huge...it boogles my mind GT AND I love love love your photographs....
They said no food or drink after midnight. They aren't sure if they'll even pull them. I'm on my third round of antibiotic and it's not touching the infection. This has been going on for a long time. It's actually three teeth but one is so bad my ear hurts and I look like Alvin the chipmunk.
Oh, thanks Katherine. I must say I got really annoyed today. Someone suggested stronged that one of my pics was swiped from National Geographic. Sheeesh.
Oh and Lost is a no win situation. I don't think there is anyone who isn't Lost even if they do watch it faithfully. I'm committed to seeing it end though, even if it gets to the point I DVR it and watch the episodes later.

I know I get highly annoyed when I click on a photo and there is either no caption or tags OR the person posting says they got the image from some royalty free photos site.
Normally I am not as frightened as I am right now but I am scared because I have an infection that won't go away. I was on many medications and it ate the enamel of my teeth. After that they became chalk like and just started falling apart. I knew I had lost my mind when I got the pliers out, lol
Well...you could shut your electricity off for 3 days GT...that kind of broke my addiction in Dec...when we had the ice storm...now I'm just on 8 hours a day....hahahaha....you will get burnt out and just leave it be for a day or two
Hang in there. They'll likely pull it, then give you a course of nice strong antibiotics. Pulling it should take away most of the infected material, so then you'll be able to heal. (So says Doc G, and she paid for her medical degree with Green Stamps.)
I need to go to the dentist soon myself. I have some decay around a few fillings, ugh. I just have to wait till I have some more cash to pay for the work.
Marianne, I hope we finally get a decent national health mandate that includes dental. Sheeesh, it's criminal the way our healthcare system operates. (GT has no opinions.)
G T, that makes me feel better. I told Hubby I'm afraid they'll pull it but I'm more afraid they won't.
Kathy, I have to get them all pulled. The doctors that put me on the enamel eating mediction didn't warn me this would happen. My teeth are gone. The last dentist I saw told me I should have been getting flouride treatments all those years. I look forward to the day when I am dentally pain free.
Oh i know GT...it's down right disgusting that we don't have more affordable health care...remember when you were kid, how cheap it was to get medical?
oh I know GT...seems like one has to be as schooled as the doc's so you can ask the right questions....they want you in and out asap...to see that next patient to get that next co pay....they just don't take the time with you that they should...at least most don't ...mine is a woman dr and she sits and talks as long as I want
I think that the solution to our healthcare system and our educational system is to nationalize them both and pay doctors and teachers the same!! That would give teachers a decent wage and take physicians off their God perch. (But I have no opinion. :o)
Yeah, when my father had his last illness, the docs twice gave him anestesia that caused a truly violent reaction--the same substance both times. When they went to do it a third time, my brother-in-law intervened to prevent it. And the doctor was INSULTED! Not apologetic--but insulted that his prerogatives were questioned.
Since I entered the old broad stage of my life, I've discovered that my contemporaries spend a lot of time discussing health, so feel free to tell me to back off.
I feel your pain ladies...we went through some hard times with Dr's with my FIL and then my MIL...wrong drugs, wrong treatments...you have to be on top of them constantly to make sure they do what's right, and here you are with no medical training just going by what you can find online or in medical books.....
I know, and the more you talk to people, the more you find out that the professionals don't seem to know (or sometimes care) what they are doing! For too many of them, patients are just their particular commodity.
We've been rather obsessed with healthcare for the last six months. My 7-year-old was diagnosed with leukemia in July. Insurance (we'd just finally found one we could afford and were supposed to begin coverage 8/1) dropped us like a hot potato! It was a nightmare. However, I guess my opinion of doctors is a lot better, but so is my experience. Our oncologist at Rainbow was WONDERFUL! The only people that really tick me off are the insurance companies!
I'm getting to be an old broad too...how old are you GT? I'm 48 and feel 80 some days I swear...my knees are giving out...my shoulders and neck hurt..I can't run to save my life...sigh...

Actually, I do concede that there are some wonderful physicians out there, but it torks me off that they don't really seem responsible for their behavior. The whole system is built to protect the physicians, not the patients. So I would love to see a genuine patients' bill of rights. I'm glad you are having a good experience for your son. I hope he is doing well, the wee sweetheart.
Of course, I don't really trust the quacks at our local hospital for the most part. We finally found a family practice in town that we like, but they have totally gutted our local hospital to the point that it's little more than a triage unit. Part of University Hospitals - and of course centralization is more 'cost effective'. Unfortunately, it means that those of us in outlying areas get sucky service!

I am 58, and Himself is 64. We are recently retired. When is why the addicition to Gather could be so dangerous! We are in the travel mode of our lives. So that should give us a bit of distance now an then.

Oh my Apryl...my hubby had teeth problems before I met him...finally just had them all taken out and the relief he said he felt was well worth it
There are few shows I watch regulary....but that is one of em...tho lately they've been doing stupid things that make me mad...unrealistic stuff
And yes...balance is good GT...one does have to have humor to make it in the world and not go crazy
