Even though I didn't get to go to the mountains this weekend, Mother Nature has rewarded me with a photo oportunity anyway. Coming back from shopping I just happened to look at the side of the building and look what I saw! I didn't get a picture of the cute scene I first observed, I didn't have the camera with me, of course. I ran home, got the camera and came back though.
Mommy Robin wasn't in the nest and I stood around and waited. I know she'd be back. Feeding is a continuous thing with birds. After about ten minutes she came back, but didn't like an audience. She perched on the nest for a few minutes but didn't pass out the food like she did before I had the camera. I was lucky enough to get these few shots though. I didn't want to hang too long because the little guys wanted the meal she brought back now. I took these few pictures and left them alone. Enjoy.

She won't feed them with me watching.

I think she's counting to be sure they are all there.

See their little mouths waiting for the food?

I felt so bad, I left so she would come back and feed them.

Quinn - Feeding these little birds is an all day job. That is all they do, feed, hunt for worms, come back and feed and then start all over again. At night the light is on and I can't see anything but the light shining in my eyes.
I have sparrows trying to make the light right next to my front door (the only door we use to go in and out) a nesting area.
I have been chasing them away so far, I do not want birdy poo all over when we come and go, and it would be awful for the birds to try to raise babies within arms reach of people... at least I would think.
