Dreaming of a White Easter....NOT!!

Well, if you saw my photos of the blossoms around our block in my article titled "Busting Out in Blossoms: Spring on Our Block" then you'll be interested in the photos attached to this article. We received one and a half inches of snow overnight, and they are all covered now. The good news is that temperature did not drop as low as expected (only down to 30F in stead of 20F), so they may not be damaged. Time will tell.

The whole contry, well almost, is having a cold Easter Week-end. It has been well below freezing at night for most of the week in Iowa. We didn't have the snow but the spring flowers that were blooming all took a hit.
Easter is all about His Promise and will bring new things to us.

Down to 28F here in AR last night...and sposed to be lower tonight. I fear the dogwoods and redbuds are gone, as well as the leaves.

Wow...just one more reason I am happy to live in the south. Though, I do think that a newly covered with snow city or town is beautiful!

I'm so glad you posted the photo of your snow covered flowers! I meant to go out and take some myself, but I got busy and forgot!
I knew it was cold, but I was really surprised when I got up to snow this morning.

We had snow flurries yesterday, and the temperature dropped to about 27 last night. I was wearing shorts last week because it was in the 80's. I hope the flowers make it.

Wow those look pretty even though snow is not good for them. I lost some flowers last night it got down to 18 with the wind chill :( Hope your flowers make it through!

I'm sorry about the snow at Easter, but the photos are actually quite lovely. My favorite is the first one, of the yellow tulips. I'm glad to hear the snow served a useful purpose and helped insulate the flowers from the cold!

They have rebounded quite well! However there is a freeze warning for tomorrow morning (the 5th day in a row for this!).
