Quilt for Anna

I was in Walmart one day and they had some fat quarters on clearance.  The colors were very bright and had Elvis on them.  I picked them up, thinking some day they will come in handy.

My hairdresser, Jasmine, has a daughter (Anna) in Bree's class.  They are best buds.  We got a birthday party invite for this weekend.  While Jasmine was cutting my hair she mentions that Anna LOVES Elvis.  She loves Elvis because her grandma loves Elvis.  Every time Anna hears Elvis on the radio she stops whatever she is doing to dance and sing to it.  See, I knew those fat quarters would come in handy!

 I wish I knew how to insert pictures in the text, but in the window above are pictures of the lap quilt made for Anna.  I went to my neighbor's house, she has a surger and sewing machine.  We've been in the middle of many projects for the Shakespearian festival held here and of course halloween.  I designed the layout and we made it as we went.  I wish only that I had picked up more of the Elvis fabric and I could have done something cooler for the back.

The back is a soft fabric and I machine quilted some geometric shapes and rose patterns.  I cannot wait to see Anna's face tomorrow!!
