There are full size planes outside, while inside are displays and exhibits to rival the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. - Rosalie Wheyl Museum of Doll Art Hours and Rates: Monday - Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM, Sunday 1 - 5 PM, Adults - $8, Seniors $7, Students $5, kids 4 and under - free
Museum exhibits feature over 1,200 dolls on permanent display, ranging from antique to modern, plus teddy bears, toys, dollhouses, miniatures and other childhood memorabilia. They are fun to look at and enjoy and, as well, teach the history of doll making while showcasing the artistry of the dolls. A stroll through the English garden provides you with a moment to savor the Museum building itself, a beautiful modern structure with definite Victorian influences. Since opening its doors in 1992, the Museum has received many awards, among them the prestigious Jumeau Trophy for Best Private Doll Museum in the World, awarded in Paris, France in 1994
Be prepared to spend some time in the museum store after visiting the exhibits because it inspires the need to have dolls and teddies of one's own. - Experience Music Project/Science Fiction Museum Hours and Rates: Daily 10 AM - 5 PM, Sunday 1 - 5 PM, General Admission $15.
Paul Allen's early fixation on Seattle native, Jimi Hendrix and Science Fiction are Seattle's gain. Be prepared for sound! There are numerous interactive displays and exhibits. The perfect outing for any aspiring musician since the word "Experience" in the title isn't just for effect.
