My Dad
09/25/1925 01/05/2008

He was very creative and it transpired in everything he did, from cooking to drawing, great singing voice, dancing came natural to him, taught himself the banjo and the 12 string guitar, but most of all he earned a living doing construction.
He built schools in Canada and our home in Sicily, adding his personal touch to everything in sight.

Painted a mural on our patio wall, (my mom)

Built stone and marble flower pots, benches and fountains

He was always 1 hour early for his doctor appointments,
Paid attention to detail
Mixed Coca-Cola in his wine.
But most of all honesty, creativity and his love for our family will always be remembered and embedded in our heart's.

BUT BECAUSE MY DAD LIVED IN SICILY HE COULD ONLY SEE HIM ONCE A YEAR FOR 2 OR 3 WEEKS.
SO I TRY TO ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS MY SON ASKS ME ABOUT HIM... AND THEN SOME.
I sympathize with you on the once hour early thing. My dad is still that way!
Thanks for sharing this. It's wonderful.

Georgiana S.,

Elsie Duggan,
Love you, dear friend.
THANK YOU
It appears he was a lot of fun, the proof is in his wine drink. Is that popular? Or did he create it, like when you cook? I notice you said he cooked also. I can almost smell the sauce. How is your mother Marco? And yourself, and the rest of your family? It will take time. Your mother looks beautiful sitting at your home in Sicily. Your son, who is very handsome, and is carrying on the tradition of great men, I see it in the videos and in pictures, like this one. How daring! I know his grandfather thought that was tops.
I wish you and yours a lot of peace, and I hope I get to read again about this great father who did a wonderful job, and looking at all that he has left a part of himself with, and in, I am sure his talents will be missed. Did he work on his own? Sicily looks fabulous, really a great place to be born. Hope to read more Marco. Thank you for sharing your memories of your Father. Ellen B
bueno fortuno, isthat how you say it? Good luck! I dont remember.. My father was a builder too. I lost him when I was 28. It never gets easy though.. really. I lost my mother at 18.
I just wanted to stop by since I am finally going through what is now listed as under 4,900 pieces of gather new mail that is sitting in my inbox on here.
With that mentioned I just came across either a mailing from you yourself, or someone else brought this piece to my attention. You or they felt that your creation should be shared with the gather community, which I am very glad that it was passed on to me to view. So I wanted to say Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to publish it here on gather for us to all view. :o)
As well before I leave you I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year... in 2009 :o)
