Last week Bill and I went camping in the Tanuem, an area in the foot hills not far from Thorp, Washington. The site we selected is commonly called Long Meadows. Lots of free camping and we enjoy the area. Even though you can't have a fire May through Oct. Our favorite spot is called "The Hole" - a large, private wooded area a ways off the road. Upon arriving at our camp site we discovered a large amount of garbage. An entire leaf size bag of garbage. Boy were we [angry]! There were clam shells, oyster shells, beer cans, disposable diapers, a small bar-b-q shot full of holes, and a magazine on fancy spas. Countless items.
Why? Did someone confuse this spot for a garbage dump? Were they so inconsiderate that they don't care about anyone else? Maybe they were too drunk to give a [@#$*$&] either way. The land belongs to Washington State (the area is called L.T. Murray) , that means it is paid for by our tax dollars. ALL OF US here in Washington State!
