Alec Baldwin's Phone Message to his Daughter Ireland.

Do you think he will lose custody of his daughter over this phone message?

Do you think that it was the right thing to do to leak this private message out to the media?

 

 I don't think he will lose custody, I personally think that he should apologize to his daughter , control his anger and instead let her know how much he loves her and I think it was even worse to hand over the message to the media because it was a private message between father and daughter reguardless what he said.

 

 

By popular demand, I advise (only intended for adults) because it shows an adults frustration and kids should not take it has an example, thats my opinion.

I think that whomever leaked the message to the world did a worse disservice to the child than the original message itself.

I'm pretty opinionated on this one. I think Baldwin has a temper, it has shown up at other times in his career. But, I think his ex-wife knows exactly how to push his buttons, and he has tried for years to be a part of the life of his child. I think the mother has convinced the child that dad doesn't deserve respect, and then she leaked the tape. If I had to choose, I would give him more time with his daughter, and have him get some therapy for anger management. I think the mother is more at fault than he is.

From what I understand from the morning talk shows (the pinnacle of truth ; ), Mr. Baldwin has already apologized to his daughter and they have made good. I can understand the frustration of a parent who feels like they are getting cut off from their children, however I personally couldn't talk to my child that way. And with the media attention, which to be fair he could not have expected given the divorce sealing requirements, how many of Ireland's classmates do you think have called her a "pig" by now? That said, as long as this family is trying to work out their differences with respect to all, then in my perspective how they do it is their own business.

I see many women who do this type of thing, use their children against their fathers.

It's disgusting.

I agree with Jennifer, I probably would not talk to my kids that way, but I assure you there are millions of kids who hear much worse. He just happened to get caught.

I don't understand why she gets away with this being leaked to the media? Who else could it be but her? Who else would have access to her kids cell phone?

He should lose custody or at the very least, have supervised visitation.

As far as I'm concerned the tape should have been given to the police and Social Services.

The man is an abuser and that phone call, no matter the reason for his anger and frustration, was the height of abuse. You don't talk to anyone like that, let alone a 12-year-old. Were I the D.A. I would put him in a closed interview room with a couple of huge inmates from the max security prison and let them demean and scream at him the way he demeaned and screamed at his child.

Baldwin is a jerk, what else would you expect from him? It's always about him! I think he should go to anger management and then get a life!

I think the man definitely needs counceling to control his anger issues as does his ex-wife. I think it is a disgrace that he should talk to his 12 year old daughter or anyone else i n that manner. But, and there is always a but, I don't believe that the media has any business making a private recording public. They are only adding fuel to the fire and causing pain and humiliation for those involved, especially the child. With that said, I don't think he should lose custody but a close eye should be kept to make sure there are no signs of other abuse.

I don't think the message should have been released to the public, but now I can understand why Kim doesn't want him having custody. All I can think of is what would have happened to Ireland if she had been standing in front of him while he was that angry.

I don't think he'll lose custody over it, get a court order to anger management or therapy maybe. But I also don't think it ever should have been released to the public, why add to the trauma for Ireland?

Well, I have experienced some frustration at the fact that my daughter (13) never has her cell phone turned on when I try to get a hold of her. So, I am cancelling it, and getting us hooked back up with home service. I dont believe I would be that irate and hostile about it. I just plan to take action so that I can get a hold of my daughter in the event that she needs to be home alone.

The fact that this poor kid has waring parents is bad enough I don't wish to make it worse by gossiping about her & her family. Please remember that a pebble can start a landslide. And if just one person bows out of seemingly harmless gossip maybe it would all stop. Sorry to sound so witchy just really don't think that public opinions should matter in this.

It was terrible what he said to her but I think it is also terrible that someone put it out there to be judged by the entire world. That will be more detrimental to the child than anything her father said.

I hate when parents play games with their kids. This is a bitter divorce and I'm sure between the two of them, they are making this child's life miserable. She's caught in the middle while living with her mom. What he did was wrong but I'm sure if you dig a little deeper, mom knew what time he was going to call and the daughter then was made unavailable. He's got a temper and she's a b*tch. There ya go. I feel bad for the little girl. She is going to be a pawn the rest of her life with these two. Poor baby. I see therapy in her future.
I just feel sorry for his poor daughter, who seems to be stuck in the middle, where no child should be.

Just a little speculation, but we're all assuming it was Kim that gave the message to the media. Maybe it was Ireland. I don't think that would be beyond the scope of a child caught in such a horrid situation.

Well i do not have children but i agree what he did was wrong. I also believe it shouldn't have been leaked.No one really knows what the daughters feelings are on this subject either way.I do know Bassinger suffered many years with agoraphobia and panic attacks way before Baldwin came into the picture.My view is this, if he had the balls to say things like what he did in such a belittling way I can only imagine what the wife has endured.I also do not condone what either party may or may not have done.He needs help,badly! and Bassinger is damaged goods so how could either of them serve as good role models?

The media has once again blown something out of proportion. No, he shouldnt speak to his child like that. but we are only hearing one phone call. What pissed him off in the first place? Why was the call being recorded, unless the person recording knew there was going to be a blow up? I get angry and holler at my kids, nothing like that. And I did say that he should not speak that way to a child.

This is a called "abuse." Words can hurt as much than the use of the hand. Do I think that it should had been given to the media? No, yet this man needs help...the very least to enter an 'anger management program.' Although, who ever leaked it to the press -- may had felt fear for this child. She is only 12 years young? I do not feel his rights should be taken away -- I feel his time with his daughter Ireland should be restricted until he gets the proper treatment to manage his anger. I don't know much about Basinger and I really haven't heard much about this case before Baldwin's melt-down. As a parent, I can understand the frustration that kids cause, but as his call went on, he went way out of line, showing anger issues that no child needs to deal with.

He should only be allowed supervised visits until he deals with his anger management.

Sounds like a real-life version of "Irreconcilable Differences", doesn't it?

a lot of kids are rude pigs. maybe they should call change the word "kids" to "rude pigs." But, I don't think he shoulve attacked his ex-wife in messages or conversation with their daughter. It was an unfortunate mistake and we are all guilty of mistakes. anyway, why is this anyone elses business but their own family's?

There are always two side to a story ... This may have been going on for the six years. Do any of us know what poor little Ireland is like. Some have said Mom knew and you can bet poor little Ireland knew when Dad was going to call. The message even stated this was not the first time this had been done to him.

I have seen more than I wanted with kids being more than just rude.

What is a humans limit before they blow? You can bet Kim is spending the support money.

Darn I don't get none from my childrens father; he's a dead beat.

I don't think he should loose custody but If I was his daughter I wouldn't speak to him again. I think that if he does has visitation rights they should be monitered or supervised.
