First of all, I want to let everyone know that I will be on vacation beginning Friday, November 3 and will be returning sometime on November 12. So that's why you won't see any comments or articles from me. But please keep yours coming! I'll do my best to catch up the when I return.
We are going on a seven day cruise, and it will not only be our first cruise, but this will be the first time we have been on vacation ALONE together in twenty-six years! So I'm excited. We will be leaving from Florida and heading toward Mexico, stopping at ports along the way.
I have a question for everyone. Most people I talk to either LOVE cruising or wouldn't be caught dead cruising. And then there are the horror stories you hear about people going missing, or becoming victims of assault. I would like to know your thoughts on cruising. And if you have any handy tips for me, please let me know! Also, if there are things I should be wary of, please let me know that too. I welcome all comments....Thank you!

I, myself, have never gone on a cruise, but if given the chance, I WOULD, despite all I've heard in the news! I do have a friend, though, that has been on quiet a few, and has enjoyed them all without mishap.
Go, enjoy, than get back here safe, and tell us all about it:)
Why not take a notebook (the pencil and paper type, or even electronic) to jot down your future Gather submissions? The big ships all have internet cafes (at a price) and wireless networks, if you need to feed a net addiction!
If you want any specific questions answered then the bulletin boards at sites like cruisecritics.com will give a wealth of opinion.

I have never been on a cruise but I would love to go on one
I have never been on a cruise and most likely will never.
The only other thing I can think of is just to take the precautions you'd take traveling anywhere: Watch your possessions (I recommend not carrying a purse, but maybe an over the shoulder travel wallet you can hide or keep things in your front pockets.) Tourism is probably huge wherever you're going so you have to sternly say "no" if you aren't interested in whatever is being peddled. Make sure you're back to port early enough to get on the boat too!!! And HAVE FUN and enjoy your time away!
