Whoo-whoo

Conductor calls
You rest assured
A long train ride
From state to state
Quickest transport
Highest rate
Greatest views
Of country-sides
In the distance
Horses ride
'Til "in the distance"
Was too close
Men with weapons
Outlaw posts
The horse again
Shall ride alone
Guns and ammo
Men like clones
Quick and strong
They shall demand
Money, jewelry
Rights to land
Screams of terror
Fright legit
You may not speak
Just wait and sit
They come around
With bags for loot
You must obey
Or else they'll shoot
Waving pistols
In the air
Weren't they ever
Taught to share
You hold your breath
Until they're gone
The shortest train ride
Seemed so long
The train station comes
You stand to leave
And then you remember
and start to breathe
Only clothes left on your back
You feel so very alone
A few simple thoughts and then
"I think I'll ride a horse home."

So I'll climb on my old Horse and head for home
When we get there we will never more roam
Our riding day's are done, as we are left all alone
So we'll live out our days, just me and old Roan.
I love it!
I think you've done a great job of capturing rhythms that help get across the idea of the piece. Nice job.
