The Adirondack Route: Montreal – Albany – New York
Welcome aboard! You’re about to take a tour of the first route in the Next Stop series: The Adirondack. For the next three weeks, Gather members from three main cities along Amtrak’s Adirondack route will share stories and advice about New York City, Albany, and Montreal.
The Adirondack travels daily from New York City, through the lush wine country of the Hudson Valley, into Montreal. If you were to actually travel this route heading north, you’d be scheduled to depart New York's Penn Station in the morning and arrive in Montreal in the evening. Or, you could board the southbound train anywhere along the line and arrive in mid-town Manhattan in time to enjoy dinner and nightlife in New York City.
Volunteer park rangers provide a narrative between Croton-Harmon and Plattsburgh, NY during the train rides. But for now, we’ll let our Gather members show you around.
Enjoy the ride!
> Arrive in Montreal. Don’t forget any of your belongings! (coming soon!)
