A few years ago I was staying at the Outdoor World Campground in Ogunquit, Me. We decided to explore the towns as we usually do. We came upon this gem- Old York. This was a historical town with alot of museum buildings to explore. For 10.00 a person, you got into around 8 buildings.
It had the Tavern(Jefferds) and the Emerson Wilcox house right near each other, as the schoolhouse and the church and townhall. Down the road was the Ramsdell home , which they were restoring at the time. Then even further was the John Hancock warehouse(yes that one) and the magnificent Elizabeth Perkins house.
I had thought I would go back there as my friends would love it, and of course it does have it's hauntings.
I had asked at the Emerson-Wilcox house on the first tour and they denied it, but on the second tour we went on- she not only admitted it- she told me that the ghost of one of the women who had lived there loved to show herself to children. The place did have the vibes.
The Goal- now that place! my daughter refused to go into some of the rooms, she was terrified. It also is haunted by some of it's former residents.
The Elizabeth Perkins house- they denied ...of course. They did say that Elizabeth herself used say it was haunted- but they said it was because she liked to tell stories.(if I remember correctly). From what I saw in pictures , I would have liked that woman.
I didn't feel anything at the Jefferd's tavern, and no one spill any beans.
The church yard is supposedly haunted, we did take pictures there. Nothing showed up.
This little New England town is beautiful and even if your not going for hauntings, is very much worth the trip!

I guess, in all areas in the country, we each have somewhere wonderful to explore.
