I love to add different things to my recipes and come up with new tastes. I did that today with the pot of chili I made. It is delicious and was so cheap! Frugal! It makes me enjoy it even more. I made this pot of chili for dinner tomorrow after church for our whole family.
My Chili
2 pounds of browned ground beef which was in our freezer
4 cans of diced tomatoes with chili peppers, and spices – I paid 49 cents each at the surplus store
1 can of chili beans – I paid 49 cents
1 can of kidney beans – I paid 49 cents
1 can of black beans – I paid 49 cents
I added chili powder, onion/garlic salt to taste, which I had bought at the surplus store for 25 cents
1 packet of sloppy joe mix which I had gotten for 25 cents
2-3 cans of water, this is to your thick or juicy preference
2-3 cups of cooked macaroni
I browned the ground beef and added the spices. Then I added the tomatoes, beans and water and sloppy joe mix. After it was done, I added the cooked macaroni and let it sit and season.
Now this is a CHEAP! FRUGAL! Chili that I am so excited about. It is delicious and once again the cost was so cheap to feed 12+ people!

-- and sometimes I add a dash of cinnamon, if I want my chili to taste kind of sweet

I add cocoa powder sometimes, or some actual chocolate and each time I make it I use a different kind of chile (pure chiles) or chili powder (spice combination). I don't think I've ever made chili the same way twice.
I am keeping this recipe . thank you.
