I've had several people ask me for some survey tips and advice when it comes to taking surveys. So, I wanted to share some things I've learned and things that have helped me.
Some tips I tell people starting out and friends looking to join-
1) If you only have one email account as your main account I'd make another free account just for surveys, instant wins and freebies. Sometimes no matter how good a place is you'll still recieve some type of spam.Mainly if you do freebies and instant wins. They'll try to rope you in signing up for a newsletter.Certain companies tend to block some companies. You'll need to be aware of this and possibly whitelist the company in order to recieve their surveys.
2) If asked to pay anything or give your credit card number. DON'T do it! When it comes to surveys never ever pay for something you can find for free online. Meaning when you see these postings saying pay such and such amount of money for a list. Click away from that site! People compile list together and usually are able to find information on paid survey companies for free. They however charge you for the list they compiled. So please remember to steer clear of those sites. Information is available if you know what your looking for and how to verify companies before giving out all your information.
3) If a survey company promises that you will be making loads of money within minutes or hours. Don't belive that. Most of companies that are legit can take up to 2 months before you may see a real paying survey. You'll have profilers to fill out on some sites as well as some none paying surveys depending on the company.Companies go by demographics and if you are not what they are looking for at the moment you may not qualify or have a survey sent intil one hits the demographic your in.
*Scam reporting and where to check companies out -Surveypolice.com* On there website you can research a company to see if there has been complaints filed. You will find the date of the complaint, type of offense, an overal rating and if the complaint has been resolved. This is a great place to go if you have a problem or just want to check up on the overall reliability of the company. As with any company there will always be some one somewhere with a problem so judge accordingly.

You can also report a scam this way:
"Call your local state attorney's office.
Call the Better Business Bureau in the city or state of the scammer.
Call your local consumer protection agency.
Call the National Fraud Information Center at 1-800-876-7060. You can also find it on the Internet at http://www.fraud.org/.
If you received the information by mail, call your local post office and report the scammer.
If you have a consumer problem or complaint, write to the Federal Trade Commission. Although the agency cannot act to resolve individual problems, it can act when it sees a pattern of possible law violations. Write to Correspondence Branch, Federal Trade Commission, 6th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., 20580, or call 202-326-2418.
