If you live near an Amish population, shop at their salvage stores. You can get products at those for cheaper prices than even Walmart. Way cheaper...in the 30 to 40 percent cheaper range. You need to drive around or befriend some Amish as they don't readily advertise these stores. Many times they are located only a few miles from one another and the majority of stores will not even have a sign out front. Those that have signs will say "so and so Salvage". They are not located either in business districts, but rather right on the residential properties. All I say is if you live near an Amish area...check them out.

Thats true. Every morning my husband stops and buys a pop at the gas station. Thats at least $2 tax and all. He works 6 days a week. Thats $12 a week. $48 a month. For a pop.

Waste not want not! I conserve on everything especially electricity and Gas. If I can walk there I do, we also have an economy car which really helps matters. I fill up about once or twice a month on average.

I grocery shop at Aldis here. Can get most of what I need.

One of the best tips I can give you is to use the regular Scott Toilet Paper. As a single mom of three kids, I did a very unscientific survey and when I did the cost breakdown (Scott is sometimes a little more expensive than regular brand) I saved at least 40%. It really made a huge difference.

There's a site called FrugalVillageForums.com - these women really know their stuff. You can learn a lot from them.

You can usually find coupons for scott. I buy my paper products at Sams. I buy the members mark brand. I figured it up and I saved $10 a month buying it there.

my mom told me to shop at Dollar General for all your paper products like toilet paper and paper towels and they even use coupons. love those coupons. Also, if you like a product write to them and tell them, they might even give you coupons.

We buy our meds first. Then buy as few groceries as we can.no frills. We try not to have to fill our car more than twice a month. But it is hard we live in a rural erea and it is 56 miles to the bigger town

I save a lot on Christmas just by shopping sales all year round. I buy my gifts,bags,wraps, anything with solid or festive colors..Thats probably my biggest money saving tip, though I have tons!

I shop sales and use coupons whenever possible. I pay in cash only. We shop garage sales, yard sales, estate sales and auctions when we have the extra cash.

Grant and I often share meals when we go out to eat. Since we eat out a lot, this is a savings for us and it helps our waistline! We find that we never eat all of our meal any way because they are usually so big...that way we are not wasting.

I don't buy anything on impulse, and try to buy only items on sale. I'm always on the lookout for items I know I will be buying within the next few months and snatch them up when the price is right. Everything goes on sale. I check if an item I need is available on Ebay (usually that is the case) at a cheaper price, before I purchase anything at a mall or online. You need to be careful not to get carried away while participating in auctions because sometimes you end of paying more than if you get the item as a "buy it now" purchase.
