Recently many banks are offering free cash bonus for new or existing customers to open up new accounts. I have posted a few current deals in the last few days. Mostly, people are skeptical about them, and I don't blame people for being extra careful when it's financial related matters.
So, I decided to post a few cash bonuses that I have already met the requirements and received in my possession (either cash in my bank account or gift cards in my hand):
$101 in my account from PNC (initial deposit $100)
$50 + $10 in my hand from BB&T (initial deposit $50)
$50 in my bank account from Wachovia (initial deposit $100)
$25 in my hand from Acacia (initial deposit $25)
$25 in my account from Fairfax County Credit Union (initial deposit $100)
$45 in my account from Revolution Money Exchange (no money down, referral available)
$50 in my hand from Sun Trust (initial deposit $110)
These are just from the last few months. The list goes on and on because I have been taking advantage of these offers since 10 years ago. So, yes, they are real, and you don't incur any penalty if you follow the requirements. As you can see, some offers gave me a return of 100%. You do need to pay income tax on the free money, because they are considered "interest income".
Do I have too many bank accounts? Yes. But my credit score is still excellent and I diverse my risk anyway, so I don't mind. Plus, I never have to pay anything for checks or online bill pay. This may not work for you, but it works for me and I am happy to share it.
