Did ur parents split up!

i was only around 5 didn't know the difference..

Mine are still together and it will be 51 years this month.
There were (are) certainly times they did not get along, but they negotiate everything.

Mine divorced when I was seven. I'm glad they did. They are now both married to their perfect counterpart.

My mother died when I was eight. My father immediately remarried... it was a disastrous marriage, and he left her when I was seventeen.

My parents split up when I was six, I was in the second grade. I remember the day vividly, I was doing my homework at my desk in the living room and my sister was sitting on the floor model stereo in the living room (that I still have), my younger brother was at the top of the steps. When my mother announced that my father was not going to be living with us anymore. My sister cried, my brother fell down the steps and I just kept right on doing my homework. I was glad (so I thought at the time) my father and I never got along while we lived together. I am the middle child and he really blamed me for everything and in a way so did my mother. Anyway I love my Dad now and it was the best thing that ever happened to our family. Yeah we were poor for a long time but, it would have been worse if he had stayed. I am 30 years old now and I still think that he needed to go. I used to hate to see him come in the door after he got off work. I did not beat me or abuse me physically, but he just didn't want 3 kids, he only wanted 2 and he made that very clear. I was the second daughter. I was not the first and not the last so I was in the way. He was not ready for what he got. My mother says that we are a lot alike. She may be right , But I never got the chance to see that.

Mine are still together after 40 years! One of my best friends' did when he was 5 and he never really got over it until adulthood. I had to leave my 1st husband because he was abusive to me and the kids. I had to come to the choice of having no father was better than having a jacka@@ who beat & molested them and raped me almost daily. God blessed us with my wonderful husband, Matthew, who took on 4 kids with a passion that still floors me. They have the daddy they deserve now.

My parents have been happily married for 45 years. I have no idea how they do it. i would have killed my dad 20 times over by now. He drives me nuts. I tell my mom every chance I get that she's got one heck of a special place in heaven for putting up with him.

My parents divorced when I was in Jr High. It had become a war zone at times. Mom would lock dad out, and we weren't allowed to let him in, even to get work clothes. Mom even had us pack things and move him out the last time. She even took us looking to see if she could find if he was "parked" somewhere while they were seperated. I didn't like the idea of divorce much, but after it was final, things improved all around, mostly. It was much better anyway.

nope, mine were married 63.5 years...great role models for all us kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

My parents have been married almost 40 years....my inlaws have been married 42 yrs.

My parents divorced when I was in High school. They were both quite civil about the whole thing. I remember being irritated that the school guidance councilors kept wanting to talk to me about it.

Congrats to all those that parents have been together for forever and a day I just wish that we could all be as lucky to find our soul mates (or even someone we can stand to be w/ forever) so early in life

They divorced when I was nine, and I'm glad. Each eventually found a soul-mate and both were still happily married when they died.

Mine didn't, but I often thought they should have as they drank and fought. They stayed together until their end and really did deep down love each other tremendously. My Father did one heck of a job taking care of my mother for many years alone until I moved down in 1997 to help. He looked so tired, I knew he needed help. When my mother died in 2003, my father said often that she was his star.

Mine split when I was about 10. It was hard for me as m father had another woman. At first we all lived in the same town or close. So my sister and I got to see my dad more often. Then he moved away and it was harder.

I was 10 and it was strange for me not to see my dad home everyday. Life got hard but I lived through it and I am not scarred for life because of it.

My Parents are still together after nearly 48 years this November. I have never even known one of them ever leaving the other for any reason.

I was 18 and although I was happy that they finally did it, I was pissed that they waited so long!

That and I was home for the summer from college and my mom left me there. (She left and got her own place) I had to deal with my dad. He was a mess and it got worse when two weeks later, he lost his job. He was not a nice person before she left, but he was ten times worse after. He drank, yelled, punched,etc. I became his punching bag. I called my mom and begged he to let me stay with her for the last month of my summer. She took her time saying yes. I have a little anger from that.....

It was hard in general for me because I had a really hard 1st year in school and really wanted to come home to the safe nest of home and lick my wounds. Instead, I got more!

Now it is a lot better. My mom is happy, married, and lives near by. My dad has supposedly quit drinking, but he is in Iowa so I don't really care.

I was sixteen and I took is hard since i was in the middle of the he said she said battles. I had to move in with my Grandparents.

My parents have been married for 50 years, still together. I cannot imagine it any other way especially now.

I was only two or three years old when it happened. I'm sure I didn't even know it happened at the time.

OH YEA, but so far back don't remember. Then they went back together to make us miserable for the rest of our lives, right up until the bitter end.
