Jennifer, I have seen interviews with the manager of the film and a long time Jackson associate who said that 90% of the proceeds goes to the Jackson estate which is left to the children. So ~$11 Million goes to the overhead.
I went to see it over the weekend... my husband and I were the only ones in the theater. It was a matinee, and in sort of a redneck town, but I still expected more than that!
