Do you get a nice white breast or do the traditional and that includes stuffing the bird? My family does not like dk. meat so we do the all white breast. Butterball is so good with the red pop up timmer

We get the whole bird, stuffing and all. I love dark meat.. I love white meat too.. but I really like the dark meat, especially for sammiches. We do dinner at my sister's and she'll cook the turkey, but I always buy one for me for at home too and cook it a day or two after T-giving so I can have plenty of turkey for turkey sammiches and turkey soup or casserole or something.. mmmm.. now i'm making myself hungry LOL

I don't eat meat, but cooka turkey for the rest of the crowd. The older members eat dark meat, the kids eat only white.

Hubby doesn't like the fact that we get the whole bird, but it is necessary. I even have thought about getting a couple extra drumsticks to roast alongside the bird. My brood fights over the drumsticks and the wings.

There was just a story on the radio about how they have bred turkeys so much that they are all white meat, but can not have sex (they need to be artificially inseminated ) and that the genetic like is so pure, disease could wipe them all out

But I love white meat too..

little tip for chicken and turkey, to make the chicken breasts juicer, soak them in salt water over night.. mmmm mmm.

When I'm home for Thanksgiving, my mom usually gets the whole bird if my brother, sister-in-law and niece are there also. Last year, my parents came up to my place, so I just got a turkey breast since it was just the three of us.

Whole turkey and stuffed. I hate white meat myself. I saw a piece on TV yesterday about a guy who breeds turkeys the way they used to - running free, no cages. The meat on these supposedly is darker and more "wild" tasting. I'm hoping I can find one of those. I really don't want a turkey that has never seen the light of day.

This year we ordered a 22lb fresh turkey to pick up Monday and a 8lb turkey breast. We better be hungry.

We usually have the whole turkey without the stuffing. I personally like the white meat, but others like the dark meat.
