Unconscious Mind

What does it all mean

 

Conscious mind

A swim in the desert

Unconscious Mind

A walk in the sea

 

The sea

you see

inside of me

In this sea

lies mystery

 

In this sea

lies misery

In this sea my love

my peace resides

 

 

What I cant remember

What I cant forget

What I can not hide

It lives here and yet 

on and on it goes

 

As I sleep

As I eat

As I walk

As I talk

 

In this sea

lives the key

 

The real trouble within me

The real trouble within you

Yet there lies your very best

A place for the weary to rest

tuwanda, I love this meandering poem that structurally offers a free verse in a unique stanza format and takes us on a walk not, by the sea, but actually into the sea of consciousness, a very presim notion that speaks to the reality and tangibility of conscious as well as unconscious thought. Your poem uses a splendid metaphor to illustrate the many paradoxes of the mind and spirit, not the least of which is comingling joy and suffering (i.e. "misery" and "peace"). Superb, tuwanda!
