OK, this is not a partisan article. I only wish the readers to stop and think.
Reading the major U.S. Newspapers or watching the stuff on TV, all of the "pundits" agree that Tuesday may be one of the most important elections that the United States has conducted since 1776.
Why? We're not electing a President. No. We're electing the counterbalance. This is how the Constitution chose to create "Checks and Balances".
I am neither Republican nor Democrat, and I don't wish this to become a partisan rant. I only write to implore those in the U.S. to consider closely, who has accurately represented what they wish. If your congresscritter reflects your 100% wishes, VOTE FOR THEM. If they have not, maybe the person attempting to unseat them would be a better vote.
The current campaign of fear, has me afraid! Those who choose to be frightened, don't understand the problem. Judging from one party's advertisements, we are all supposed to "duck and cover" and hunker down in our nuclear "bombshelters". I grew up in the '50s...bull!
Between watching American jobs sent "offshore" (remember the bumper stickers that encouraged "buy American"?), middle class buying power dropping by 50% ("The economy is doing great"), and American citizens not being welcomed by most countries in the world any more, I have several severe questions about our curent "leadership" and direction.
The entire gist of where I'm going with this is that YOU, as a citizen, needs to prove me wrong! You can do this only by going to the polls on Tuesday and voting.
If you don't like what's happening, CHANGE IT. If you do, re-elect your current representative (and Senator). This is only my rant. There are now 300,000,000 people in this country. Half of those are eligible to vote. DO IT! If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I will accept the will of the majority...BUT THERE MUST BE A MAJORITY!
If current encumbants win by less than 1%, I will have suspicions, but I will accept it.
If you didn't take the 10 minutes out of your day to express your wishes, then shame on you!
Consider what you know. Consider what you were taught when you were growing up. Consider what you see today.
Think of this and vote!

In January I wished you could vote in mine (since you and I discussed what would happen if Harper got in, and it's happening!!).
Thanks for writing this!!

In a recent election my mother said she was not going to vote. She complained the whole entire time. I told her she had no right to complain unless she was willing to do her part. She voted.
The main point is, this country claims to be the only major democracy (the fact that we aren't, isn't the discussion here), and we have approximately a 60% turnout to vote among registered voters, is appalling at best!
If you don't like how things are, CHANGE THEM. If you do and you don't want them changed, VOTE.
I was very honest. This isn't a food fight. It's the future of our entire nation. Majority rules in a representative democracy. I can accept that, as long as I've let my will be known.
