I have had a lot of things happening within the past couple of months that have kept me away from Gather. I wanted to explain to those that are interested that I'm not ignoring you and would also like to give insight to the winds of change that has blown my life adrift for the time being.
To start off with, my father-in-law was diagnosed with cancer in the past. The price he paid and is still paying for smoking. He has been in and out of the hospital, fought it for a time and we all had hopes of his recovery for it went in to submission. Even though he faced reality...him and his wife were still smoking as much as before. Cancer returned and certain conditions worsened during the past few weeks. Leaving him in the hospital for over a week now, recovering from the "last resort" surgery. Everyday, the doctors declare another day's stay is needed and the outlook is very uncertain.
Also, I rent my house through a broker from the owner out of Texas. The broker works at a realty company and is only out for himself. He has been playing us against the owner so that the owner will be tired of renting the house and just go ahead and sale it. (Bigger money for the broker if the house is sold, you see) If it is sold, then we have to move. To make a long story short...every time we talk to the broker or the owner, we get a different story on if it is being sold, if it is...then when we need to move out by. Also, the broker and owner are blaming the other and it has gotten to the point that we don't know who to trust or what is really going on. At this time of year, it was stressful in worrying on if we had to find a place and move by Christmas.
Not to mention there are other stress that occur during the holiday seasons of November and December along with those of the family life the seem to esculate from the other events mentioned.
So, I will come back to Gather and respond to the e-mails, approve the friends and articles and be a Gatherer as ever before...but now I need to focus on what matters most now. Thanks
