The Million Clicks (or links) Cannondale Boycott

Cannondale became the bike of choice for President Bush when the company presented him with a brand new, customized, 2007 Moutain Bike valued at over $5,000 before they even hit the stores. The story of this gift hit the news in a BIG WAY yesterday, even though the company said they would not do anything to ADVERTISE the fact they had gifted the president said bike...sure, it just happened to find its way into the news. If you think the President's "Stay The Course" policy in Iraq is wrong, can you in all good faith ride a Cannondale?

If a gift is given to the President of the US, it becomes the property of the United States Government, not the occupant of the office. Therefore to set the precident of boycotting a product because it is gifted to the United States Government is dangerous, IMHO.

You have a right to your opinion about the policies, but Cannondale has a right to gift the bike as well.

Mr. Elf...NOT necessarily true. IF the president CHOOSES to claiim the gift, report it as a figt recieved over the gift value limit, he can keep it. With gifts like these, the recipient uses it, and eventually it becomes a part of their library. If you do some research on this, you'll find that the president has accepted, and uses tens of thousands of dollars worth of FREE GEAR from Cannondale, and others like them. He also has I believe two Trex bikes as well.

Porgie, doesn't it concern you that boycotting this company strikes the most severe blow at it's employees? Do they deserve to suffer because someone is trying to make a political statement?

Rex....don't you find it ODD that Cannondale said they would not BRAG or advertise this gift, and just in time for Thanksgiving the story broke in the news that the president was tooling around on a CANNONDALE? Furthermore, in the article, they sure had a WHOLE LOT OF DETAILS on this new bike, including the fact the president got one before they even HIT THE STORES....GEE, great article to come out just into time for the Christmas Season huh? It's simple...Cannondale needs to demand it's bike(s) back.

Spartan...I am really hoping this catches on....sounds funny, but holding a corporation accountable for their support and gifts to Bush could really focus some attention on the wrong "Stay the Course" policy of Bush.
