US, us and the nation, now have the chance to begin to work together !
Let us NOT stay fractured and divided as we seemed to be prior to the election.
Let us ALL come together in a common cause to work things out as peacefully as is possible.
Let us ONLY use the big stick when absolutely necessary.
Let us BEGIN to speak more softly.
Thanks to EVERYONE that either had the disgust on the one side to stay out of the polls yesterday, and more importantly to those that had a change of heart that allowed this outcome.

it is time to unite to solve problems that haven't been solved by previous congresses.
the democrats just appealed to the moderate/independent voters better this time. those are swing voters. you can't count on them every election.

It was a combination of the democrats getting their 'Bush is not the answer' message across effectively and the voters figuring it out themselves that Bush is not the answer - He screwed up the war in Iraq - from the moment after we defeated the Iraqi army. That was when his administration mishandled the situation in Iraq.
As for coming together, that will not be easy if Pelosi sticks with her impeachment agenda, and takes the country yet another direction off course. I really don't see her giving the new Congress a chance to work. Will her hatred subside now that power is more balanced? We'll see, I guess.

Pelosi's district indeed has about a 15% left faction who work for impeachment. This is not unique, try Vermont and Hew Hampshire and other state and cities who have similar proposals . Pelosi has followed a centrist policy since she entered politics at age 47, having raised 5 children. She was raised in a political family in Maryland and has shown she knows how to manage her party onver the last nwo years.
