It started raining here yesterday. I know some of you have gotten more than your share but we needed it.
Hearing of the mudslides in California brings to mind the fact that we just had one near my home. On the Nile Road near Yakima Washington State. This slide was caused by rain water peculating from rain months ago. To give you an idea of just how big it is at least one home is buried somewhere in it. It even rerouted the river over the road and through property and buried and even tore up the highway in spots. I think they said forty four miles worth. Some people were stranded at their homes.
So it seems after all kind of strange, that I am posting rain macros from my yard. In Ellensburg, Kittitas, Washington State from October 13th, 2009.

A blade of grass.

Raindrops just hanging in there.

My trumpet flowers after two mornings hard frost.

The extra early frigid temperatures left brown edges on my mountain ashes leaves.

I have no idea why this plants leaves are still green. Mighty hearty I suppose.

My yew.
