Yellow Salsify or Goats Beard. It's scientific name is Tragopogon dubius, tragopogon being Greek for goats beard, hence the name. The flowers are a smallish yellow dandelion looking blossom and the seed heads shown here are very similar to a dandelions. Only much bigger. Yeah I know it's an intrusive weed nobody wants to see growing in their garden, let alone going to seed. I however find the way they are put together interesting. I enjoy having a closer look in other words.
