All afternoon I watched the dark clouds gather in the south. I knew by dark we were in for rain, at least there was no thunder.

But the clouds were coming in quickly and soon our bright sunny skies were dark and foreboding.

There is something restful about the sound of rain hitting canvas. Lulled me tight to sleep, a wonderful sound sleep. I was only awoken by a small Jack Russel Terrier who needed to go potty. Of course the little darling had to crawl into my sleeping bag when he returned being he was wet and cold.
The next morning the only signs of the rain was from looking at our rigs and the plant life.

The soil is so porous and it's thirsty this time of year. There were no puddles within our campsite. I could literally sit on the ground and not get wet. That is after it rained all night.
The sky was azure again and the clouds fluffy.

Not far from this site there is a spot where a small spring pops up out of the earth. It then travels about 25 feet when it just as suddenly pops right back into the earth. I would imagine that is where most the rain went.
