The second photo essay in my series of our visit to Huntington Beach State Park, SC.
When you drive into Huntington Beach State Park you cross a causeway. On one side is fresh water and the other is the marsh area, salt water. It was low tide today and the only activity was on the fresh water side where the alligators visit. The only activity on th salt water side was the oyster beds which can only be seen when the water recedes. Here are some photos of the alligators we saw today. We were about thirty feet away since they were all in the water and not sunning themselves on the banks today.
He's got his eye on you!
So after seeing our fill of these beautiful creatures we're off to see the other birds and enjoy the plant life. I'll share them in the photo essay from Huntington Beach part 3.

I've always wondered how people can live with alligators and crocodiles sometimes. I mean, I see pictures of people in Africa swimming in rivers and things and not seeming to mind that there might be a croc there.

Great photos. That's one thing about Florida I don't miss - the 'gators. Unless it's to have some as a snack. :)
Thanks Marilyn. We tried some gator at the festival here a couple of weeks ago. Well, DH did, I passed. He said it didn't have much taste and was very tough and chewy.
