My backyard is full of colorful blooms right now. Several of them I have no idea of the name. So I wanted to share all the beautiful blooms with you and see if also someone might be able to help me with identification of some of them.
The iris finally started blooming last week!
Last night I noticed that our peony bushes have a couple of flowers now, but here is a pic from last week of one of the buds about to bloom:

The lily of the Valley have been blooming the last couple of weeks but I have not been able to get a good pic of them, because carrying the baby around the yard with me I can't get low enough to the ground to get a good shot. This is the best I got (sorry I accidentally forgot to turn it before I uploaded it)

The ferns are coming in:

Untill hubby mowed the yard was overrun with dandelions:
A few more flowers or weeds that need identified

this is the same stuff as the previous pic, just a different color and I forgot to turn the pic before uploading it to Gather:

I think this is phlox??:

And we have this flower (not sure of a name for it) in a couple of colors:

These we had no idea what they were, and hubby was sure were weeds. They were taking over our yard, so he mowed over the ones that were in the areas that are usually grass. He wanted to mow them all over and I said No, don't mow in the flower beds. Then the neighbor told him they were weeds and he mowed most all of the ones in our flower beds over too.. Well, we were gone all weekend and got home Sunday night only to find most of the ones that were left were blooming. He brought one in to show me.
This is what they looked like before they bloomed:

and this is what they look like in bloom. We would have had what seemed like thousands of poppies blooming had he not mowed them all down..

Then we have two different trees/bushes that have blooms. I have no idea what either of them are. The flowers are somewhat similar but not exactly and the leaves on the plants are a bit different too.:
the first one looked like this before it bloomed:

and in bloom: (this is the only bloom on teh whole bush which I thought was sorta strange)

Then this is the other one:

I also have some impatiens in a hanging pot:
We also have several rose bushes with tons of buds that are about to bloom, but I don't have any pics of those.
Any help identifying any of these plants would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yeah Marianne, we just moved in last July, and rent. There was a woman who owned the home for a very long time then she died and my landlord bought the property, just a few months before we started renting it. So I had no idea what was going to be blooming in our yard.
Great photos. Spring is definitely in the air!
Your garden is beautiful!
The Purple flowers that look like they have 3 petals, with the little Yellow dots in the middle are called spiderwort.

I have some in my garden as well, that my best friend gave to me... just be careful not to let it go wild, I have heard tales of them overrunning the garden and crowding out other plants!
Spectacular photos!
Very beautiful pictures and garden.
love the shot with the ant on the bud
thanks for posting to Photos in Bloom
