White Crowned Sparrows that is. I did see one this winter but now, as of a few days ago there are several feeding in my yard. Most often they are found feeding on the ground under the feeders. Cleaning up what the other birds spill.

They are rarely seen at the feeder. At least what I have seen of them anyway.

They are a pretty little bird, I love the stripes on their head. This next picture with the tail twitched is real cute.

When disturbed they'll fly to the fence until they feel it's safe enough to come feed again.

Shiela B and I sat on the deck and watched these little guys scurry about unconcerned with us.

Another one fence sitting.

They have brown eyes.

This guy was checking out Shiela ( her mom spelled it that way on her birth certificate). She is a Gather member but needs to visit more often.

It's funny but for the most part the dogs don't bother these little guys. I guess they learned their just to fast for them.

Just a handsome little sparrow. By mid May the Evening Grosbeaks will be here and these little sparrows will be gone.

They get pretty close considering they are a wild bird. Now you all know what a White Crowned Sparrow looks like.
