Those that got ice got hit hard. My daughter's college has been out for 9 days because they still don't have electricity. It would have cost a fortune for the school to run enough generators to have heat in all the dorms, classrooms, run the cafeteria, etc...

Wow. Fantastic shots! This reminds me of the ice storm we had back in December when we lost power for 3 days. It sure is beautiful but so destructive. I remember when the sun hit the ice covered trees, etc. It looked like the world was made of crystal. It was gorgeous!

Just seeing the extent of the storm is awesome. The weight of that ice is scary. I see why thee branches would be breaking. Gorgeous pictures.

You can tell the ice was really heavy on the branches. I hope the trees recover from the damage. I just saw Narnia II, in which the ice queen tries to return. Whoever wrote Narnia I and II must have been thru some major ice/snow like this.

Great shots, The ones showing the blue sky behind the icicles are beautiful, but that ice does do a lot of damage. We had an ice storm in Oct 06 I think, and I have some pics posted, the leaves were still on the trees and we lost many of them. I now have a baby tree in front of my house, hoping that its ok under the snow banks.

Uh-boy.

Took a road trip up into northern Ark. yesterday where the ice is long gone but the damage remains -- looks an awful lot like tornado damage in some cases: trees just split, smushed, ruined, dead. Such a shame.
