Photographing Snow Flakes - A Photo Essay

I had fun with my camera when I realized the snow was perfect for photos. I love my Canon Powershot A720IS. I love digital. I must have taken 100 photos of snow flakes and these are the ones I kept. Enjoy!

The snowflakes didn't show up as well on my red fleece jacket. They seemed to like the hard surface of my parkas.

That's just amazing, Marilyn! And what a creative imagination you have. With all the snow falling on me yesterday, I never did think to turn the macro setting on the flakes falling on my jacket; I was too busy aiming it at Cedar twigs and red berries. Good work!

My camera is not magic. I did some research before I bought it and it seemed to have all the bells and whistles I needed. And great recommendations. It had more zoom than my last one and if I could afford an expensive camera I would spend the money and get lots of zoom. I paid less than $300 Canadian which probably equals about $200 - $250 US for this camera. It came with an editing program that I love too. Its Macro has blown me away from day one when I shot a fantastic ladybug photo.

I will practice more with snow flakes. I want to take a perfect snow flake photo and I'm not there yet.
