August 3 was Madeline's 2nd birthday! We had a party for her on Saturday the 2nd though since we figured it would be easier for some people to come and stay later on a Saturday rather than a Sunday.
David, who loves to cook and smoke meat on his grill, smoked a big Boston Butt (pork shoulder), a beef brisket, and some ribs. They were all so yummy, and we also made macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, atomic buffalo bites, hot bacon dip, a few other things and well of course cake and icecream!
Since it was a beautiful day the party was outdoors in out backyard. Madeline got tons of presents. My sister brought tons of toys for her that she was given by her boss. Her boss has two kids and was taking TONS of toys to Goodwill, but when she heard that my sister was going to be attending Madeline's bday party she asked her to take what she wanted of the toys, so she filled her vehicle and there were still tons of toys that her boss donated.
Here are a few of the pics from Maddie's Bday party
All the presents: Anything wrapped in solid paper is the stuff my sister was given for free, she just wanted to wrap it all up for Maddie to open. We just had a small party, not a lot of people, just family, and a couple of our good friends. So Maddie really didn't get spoiled with gifts, besides from my sister that is..

the little ball toy in the center was just a toy I had brought out for Maddies cousin to play with, but somehow it got in this pic..

She didn't want to get out of her wagon, she loved it sooo much, lol. So we took some of the gifts to her to open while in it.

Maddie and her 2nd cousin playing together in teh wagon. Her cousin will be one in Sept.

She LOVES little people!

After presents it was time for cake (and icecream) YUMMY!

The next day, SUnday was actually Madeline's Bday and since Davids sister was not able to come to the party since she had to work, her and her fiance came on Sunday instead. We woke up to rain and thought our plans to spend the day at the park were ruined but by the time Aunt April arrived the sun was out again. So Maddie opened her presents that they brought for her, then we ate and headed to the park!
April brought her dog Ralphy with and Maddie and Ralphy had so much fun playing together!
I know a couple of these are a bit blurry, it was hard to get a shot when they never stopped moving, lol. Maddie walked Ralphy all over while we rested on the park bench.

After all that walking Maddie was ready for a rest on the bench with Daddy

and a snack:

Then we went and fed some ducks!
Maddie is throwing bread to them. We kept her in the wagon so she didn't chase all the ducks away.

After all that fun we went to see the Carillon. It is a big tower full of bells and every Sunday at 3 and 7pm they have a concert at the park, and someone plays the bells.
Here is a pic, and I will write another photo essay with more about the Carillon soon!

Maddie likes the fountains next to the Carillon.

Then before we left we stopped under a shady tree, to get a family picture.

Thanks for coming along with me to Maddie's party and our adventure at the park!

I love the family picture at the end!
Marianne, the wagon was a gift from my father and stepmother!
Looks like she had a wonderful birthday. What could be better? A new wagon, little people, cake, a day at the park with Mommy and Daddy.
I think that photo at the end of you guys all together was priceless.
