A Day At Selby Gardens ~ Chapter Three ~ The Pond

     Chapter three of the Selby Gardens story is a tour of the pond! They had a wonderful pond, with lots of koi, plants, and some statuary!

     As you walked to the pond, there were bunches of bamboo rustling in the wind, they sounded so nice!!

My first view of the pond was a glimpse through the trees...

     I imediately noticed a statue that gave the impression it was 'floating' on the water.

Upon closer inspection, I could see he was not floating. He was also holding a beautiful bouquet of fresh orchids!

And across the way was another statue of a mermaid...

A closer view of her shows her staring into the water...

I think she was looking at all these tiny little fish...

Or maybe the gorgeous water lily...

The lily had a beautiful purple bloom!

The koi seemed to like it too!

And speaking of koi, there were all different kinds!

Black and white,

orange,

white,

and two tone!

On my way from the pond to my next destination, I noticed a lone yellow orchid, maybe his friends are part of the statue's bouquet!
