A simple vine climber that will be around for years; That I had made all by myself from a old toddler bed frame ,a few simple tools, silicone, tape, grinder, sticks(made from scaps cut off from our railing from our deck.)I am happy with the results it is stong sturdy and will last many years as apposed to many of the plastic ones in the market.
Time to throw out our old toddler bed that survived three boys, the bars were a little bent and had to be welded back together once.
Carrying it outside it matched up perfectly up to the tree ,Another vision if I chop off the legs and put the head of the bed it will look pretty cute as a vine climber.Off to the shed I went to find something to chop off the legs ..Hmm a simple saw will be alot of work and not give me the straight cut desired .A few minutes later, I have found the tool of choice I hold up my husbends grinder, Can I use this ??? He laughs you better be careful and wear glasses.I grab a pair of glasses plug it in and start cutting,
It was a big rush adrenaline to use a new tool to create something I wanted to do;Step one was completed.Step two was to find some way to connect the head of the bed to the top ,I had to chop off two more small pieces on the top so I had open bars to stick the poles in .Problem one
I had to find something small enough to fit in to the bars to keep the head board connected to the main frame, some kind of stick or pole about the size of a shovel handle.Luckily we keep a small amount of scraps for the children to play with and me :) I had found a scrap that would fit
small cut offs from our deck railing. I lighty pounded them into place and it was done..
Finishing up the small defects and getting it ready for a fresh coat of paint .
I had filled all the small crevices and screw holes with brown outdoor silicone ,used electrical tape to hold the gap between the main frame and the head tight and provide a smooth look.
ready to spray paint. I had used brown spray paint and topped it with a mist of copper to give it a glistening effect.

Try some clay pots. They can be painted and many different items can be made from them Plus, they are good for your plants. :-)
We use some recycled materials in our own new little garden
