So I thought everything went pretty well while I was away in San Francisco. Then I noticed a tipped-over chair in Kyleigh's room. My husband never said anything, so I finally asked him. So it turned out that he left Kyleigh playing by herself upstairs, while he was watching TV in the living room downstairs. He heard a big "thump" but he waited until the TV commercial to check her up. She had climbed on the chair and fell down, with her fingers pinched under the chair. My husband said, "Well, her fingers weren't broken."
He also confessed that there was an even worse fall at another time when he left Kyleigh unsupervised. Kyleigh fell from the potty trainer onto the bathroom floor. She bit her tongue and was bleeding. I really didn't know what to say.
And of course, he never brushed Kyleigh's teeth in the morning.
The day care teacher also told me that Kyleigh behaved significantly different during that week. She was crying just about everything.
I am just glad I am back.

How old is Kyleigh? Please don't leave her in his care again unless he learns to be more responsible. If you have to go out of town, leave her with a friend or family member who will take proper care of her. I would hate for something to happen to her.
You pretty much said my mind.
first time dad stayed with her?
first time mom gone so long?
It is hard to accept how your husband parents (trust me on that one), and I'm sure he'll drive you nuts at times. My kids have survived my husband and his skills (or lack there of) and the kids are probably stronger for it (lol).
ps. at first i thought you said "i am in it..." i am very tired tonight.
But you are a smart, intelligent woman so I know you will do what is right for Kyleigh.
I wouldn't leave her alone with him again, for any length of time. Luckily there were no broken fingers, this time.
