Scared the crap out of me

wow! that has not happened before to me. my daughter who is 4 doesn't like when i hold her hand but i make sure she is in front of me or i have a hand on her somewhere because i am scared to death of something happening to her!

When my son was 3. He was with his father and myself and we had gone to McRaes department store. My son walk away from us and out to the mall. Fortunately we were able to find him and all was okay but after that he never was able to walk away. We resorted to one of those harness and leash devises for a short while. Iwas so sick with fear!

One time I was babysitting a little girl who was around 2 years old. My sister and I had taken her to Burger King for lunch. Well, one of the Burger King employees who was cleaning up around the tables smiled at us and told us what a cute little girl she was. We thanked him and thought nothing of it. About 10 minutes later, we were still eating and the little girl was as well. She had one of those high chairs sitting at the end of the table. Well, this same employee walked over to our table and lifted the little girl right up out of the high chair without a word and started heading toward the door with her (which we were sitting very close to). We jumped up and yelled for him to put her down. I ran up and snatched her out of his arms, and he took off. We reported him to management and called 911. He was going to snatch her right there in front of us. I was mortified and I swear I never took her out like that again. I just couldn't believe it. SOOO scary!

Yes, It is to scary. That's a feeling that I will never forget.

Do you know whatever came out of the guy taking the girl you were babysitting for? Oh, my I am glad you seen it happen. I know how fast things can happen in a blink of an eye. People think they will and can stop it. But that is not always the case.

We were at a rummage sale indoors and I couldn't find my son and I kept calling his name and there was nothing. I was freaking out and yelling at my husband to find him. We were looking outside and out to the car thinking he was there. After some terrifying moments I found my son under one of the tables playing the whole time completely oblivious! I hugged him, yelled at him, hugged him again and told him next time he has to shout here I am whenever I call his name. My husband was so annoying to me because it was pretty much calm and here I am the mom with my heart coming out of my chest! It never happened again and he now makes sure that I know where he is when I call his name.

I work in a grocery store and you would not believe the parents that allow their kids to run all over the store with no supervision. Its as if they are oblivious to the dangers or just don't care. At least once a day we are helping parents and kids reunite.

That would have freaked me out too!

I don't have kids and I am not around any, so I haven't had a similar experience.

I can't imagine the feeling. My scariest time involved a baby. I was 10 and my 4 month old brother was having an allergic reaction. My mom laid him across my lap as we drove to the hospital so I could help him if he quit breathing. When she sat him in the car seat he would quit breathing so he had to lay on his tummy. He is big and healthy and grown up quite a bit now. Little kids can scare big people pretty good.

When my daughter was almost 3 I went to Kmart and was followed all through the store by this guy. He followed us outside and I went the opposite way and through a crowd of people to get her and me away from him. When I got to my car, I just put her up front and locked the doors and left. He was almost to my car when I pulled out of the parking spot. I'm glad I had my eyes and ears open otherwise I might not have know what was happening. When I got a safe distance away I pulled over and put her in her car seat. She usually rode the little horses for a quarter, but this time I didn't let her and she was more upset over not riding the horse than anything. That was such an awful feeling!!

yes and it was totally my own fault also. I had a folding table set up out on my deck so I could put my folded laundry on it as I took it off the line, mind you I live on the 3rd floor. Well my son was out on the deck with me and the phone started ringing. So I just ran inside to grab the cordless (25 feet away) and came back out to find my son who was only 2 at the time standing on top of it looking over the edge to the ground. I tried to get to him as quickly as I could without scaring him and luckily I did. He was right on the edge and just a good strong breeze could have knocked him over and down to the ground. That was also when we realized that he doesn't have a normal sense of fear.

When my daughter was 3 she had a febrile seizure while we were sitting in the doctor's office waiting room. I didn't know what was going on and I was terrified because the nurse took one look at her and got the doctor out of another patients room. She wouldn't stop seizing and the doctor scooped her up in his arms and carried her down to the ER. When she had her second seizure I was calmer because I knew what was going on, but the third time she had one she stopped breathing and turned blue. Even though I've taken a CPR class I just freaked and yelled for my husband.
