20 miles in 68 degree weather! 8 miles in 100 degree weather would KILL me.

Well first, I'm not running anywhere because this bum knee would give out before I got past the first mile, I'm sure.

But since I have to choose one, I'd rather do the 20 in 68 degree weather. The heat would most definitely kill me.

I did the 3 day in 2002. We trained in rain, snow and in the 60's. Our first day was in the 90's and high humidity. It was awful! I'd rather do 20 miles in comforatble weather.

Does fast walking count?
Either of the two would kill me. Im chunky and have asthma. That plus running = a trip to the emercency room.

But.. if I HAVE to choose.. id say... 8.. but id be dead before 1 ;)

I love running (although, I can't do it where I live right now), so I would do the 20 miles. Plus, like some of the others have said that heat would suck.

I'll take the 20 miles in the 68 degree weather. You didn't say we had to do it all in one day....so I'll pick several 68 degree weather days and run a couple miles each day until it totals 20!!! hehehehehee

I'm thinking heart attack, either way, so I'd start the eight mile run, feign a twisted ankle, and have the event staff carry me back to the marathon headquarters, where we'd have monkey brain and maggot hors de overs. Fair enough?

I would run the 20 miles, you can take your time yes? No time guide lines and always easier to last longer in lower temp. than in hotter temps. and not be able to make the short 8 miles.
