Gather Glitch - Notification Emails

Yea, I had the same problem the other day. I only commented on one video and I recieved an email saying I commented on my own video as well. I'm not sure about this new set up yet. I haven't been on much since the changes. It's gonna take me awhile to get used to it.

I get email notifications when I comment on other people's videos...saying I commented on MY video...but it's not MY video!

yeah I have a group invitation notification up since the "update" and when I click on it, nothing. Hopefully they will get it under wraps soon.

When I first signed up at Gather, I used my real first name. But then I changed it to Visionaerie. Now I get every single Visionaerie comment I make, delivered to my e-mail box! Now there's one glitch I wish we could edit out. Oh well. Thanks for posting this!

Yup. I haven't even posted a video yet and I've only commented on 2-3. I keep getting emails that someone has commented on my video. Too funny since I haven't posted any! Oh well, they'll fix it eventually.

Hum, I didn't realize the problem was bigger than I thought.

Carol - I have had all my notifications turned off since my first-month anniversary on Gather.

Gather is aware of this temporary glitch and is working to address it as quickly as possible...hang in there!

In the interim, if your email program supports filtering, you can automatically have all messages of this type sent to your email 'trash' folder. Follow the link at the end of this comment to learn how.

I am getting the same thing, sayin that I commented on a video..

I have notifications turned on and I have always seem an email when I respond to my own posts to answer a comment. Now, I commented on someone's video and I got an email saying (me) has replied to your video (Ihaven't posted a video) and at the end saying "You can keep up with all (my gather name)'s latest updates at (address of person who posted the video I commented on.)

Lot's of glitches. However, having been the on site computer specialist at my company for years (before I retired) I know that every time there is a new update, there will also be new glitches. Computer is the only business where it's up to the customer to find and report the bugs. When I was taught programming, I learned to de-bug my own stuff if I wanted a grade. Oh well, when I was taught accounting I was taught ethics too. Times change.
