As you stroll from your car to the store you notice a $100 bill on the sidewalk. No one is around to claim it, and you are sure it is yours. (Besides turning it in) what would you do with it?

Barring that, i'd probably buy presents for my kids, and barring that... walk into the nearest bar, and buy a round of drinks for the house.
If it is--I put in in my wallet and be glad that I caught the loss in in time.
If it isn't (I have done this) I will call the store and tell them to keep on the look out for someone who lost money in the parking lot. I don't give the amount. Then I wait to hear from the store.
