You've come a long way baby, as the saying goes. Here are some laws on different state books, some maybe still there today.
Oxford, Ohio; It was forbidden for women to undress in front of the photo of a man.
Owensboro, Kentucky: Women couldn't buy a hat unless her husband tried it on first. ( I personally think this one is funny )
Until 1984; Oklahoma law said a woman was legally her husband's property; Whoa that was only 23 years ago!
In San Fransico California; Women were prohibited from spraying their laundry by squirting water from thier mouths: Gross why would any sane woman want to do that anyway?
Whitesville, Delaware had a law that said women were forbidden to propose marriage in a leap year; which traditionally is the only year women are supposed to pop the question. Now this was man made for sure, all those guys were terrified of tying the knot.
In some states unescorted women could be refused a meal at a resturant or a room in a hotel
At the turn of the 20th century ( wow 100 years ago or so) A third of the states gave women no legal claim to wages she earned even if it was to support a lazy husband.
Until 1882 a husband literally owned the clothes a woman wore on her back.
In New York City women were forbidden to smoke in public one lady caught breaking the law back in 1904 was jailed for it.
In Kentucky in 1952 a woman was forbidden to walk along a road in a bathing suit unless she was escorted by two policemen or carried a big club.
Washington State it is illegal for a woman to suck on a lollipop in public ( Why?)
Anyone else have wacky laws to add to this????

I think that one has been lost under thousands of paperwork!
I would loved to have seen those men wearing women's hates though that would have been hilarious.
Krissy thanks for the tip.
In Arkansas, it is legal for a husband to beat his wife once a month, stipulations: It has to be on the courthouse steps, he can only hit her four times, and the stick or other object can not be more than 4 foot long.
