Question About Removing Self From Group

OK Say I no longer want to belong to -------group. Will that remove that group from My Group page?

I guess what I mean is can we delete groups yet?

Thank You as I am trying to organized for Groups 2007.

Please no one take offense of this as when I first joining Gather I really didn't understand how it worked. I thought that if a connection had a group and invited me I should join. I did that and ended up in Groups I am really not that interested in. Now that I have learned how Gather works ( somewhat lol ) I am trying to organize it.

I have recently removed myself from many groups. I had too many to manage, and I realized that I probably would never contribute to some of them. They no longer show up in my list of groups.

I delete groups on a monthly basis. No body threw me out yet! Of coarse if they took away any points for doing that I have no clue.

I, too, remove my self from groups. They no longer show up on my groups. I find that if I haven't contributed to a group in a while, it is silly for me to stay a member of it. I also find that my taste changes from day-to-day, week-to-week, and month-to-month.

I just did a major gather clean up. I removed myself from some wonderful groups, but ones that I just simply had nothing to contribute to. I also deleted several of my older articles and those that were timely, or games, questions etc.

I have deleted myself from groups with no problems. Once they are gone they are no longer in your listings just like deleting a connection means you no longer see their comments or images on your page or find them under your people.

Just find that group using it's gather page url, and click "remove" under "you are a member of this group" on the left.

Yep, it is that easy!
I went through in the past week and "cleaned" house, as well. It will remove you from the group as well as remove the group from your list. It will not affect connections at all, though.
