I think whoever took that cell phone video of the hanging of Saddam should be considered an international hero. How else would we have even a hint of the truth about what's going on? I've wondered just exactly how and why the Iraqi government has managed to be so slow and inept about taking hold of and solving its own problems, especially about things like producing an army and police force that could get the situation there under control. Now we know. The government seems to be -- the actual enemy, the source and support of the "insurgents" we're considering sending more troops there to "protect" them from. So what do we do now?

I hope the person who took the video doesn't become a martyr, but he probably will. Do we really want to not know about the kind of corruption and dishonesty this video exposes?

No I did not see the video. Why would a young boy hang himself after seeing that? It is sad, and it's also beyond me why people do what they do.

I just heard on the nightly news they did make 3 arrest.

I feel hanging anyone for any crime is a sign of a troubled society regardless of what land they are from.
Hanging is a filthy way to past on to the next life and takes all dignity out of life for the one that is losing their life and for those that carry out such an act.
This man was a cruel person and he also destroyed a lot of lives,but all humans should have the right in today's society to still be treated as a human and when a person must die by the hand of an advanced and controlled society it needs to be done with kindness and care to ensure ones path into the next life is a gentle one.
We as humans should show more dedication to live and to allow others to live.
That video shows hate but more so it shows despair among men that will have to live with it,not just the ones doing the hanging,but for the ones that have to see it everyday on their TV's throughout the world.It pops up on the news before you can change channels,it is a shame a rope is put around any persons neck.
I do not believe anyone should be allowed to view such an in-human act of hate.
As I pass people on the streets I will hang my head in shame,as I approach my judgement day,it will be done with shame because I am man..

I saw the video... and you could not really see what was happening as Sadam died. I do not think the person should be prosecuted.... for this simple fact...

They said they were televising the hanging.. well in my eyes on tv.. they truly did not televise the hanging itself, but the events leading up to the hanging. I have heard of death row executions being televised. Those would be worse to watch as it takes longer to die.

As much trouble as this man caused and the lives he wasted, I see no reason that we should not have been able to see the entire hanging in better video and sound quality... ok so most of you think im morbid... but there are tons of videos on mytube that show people dying all the time... what make Sadam's hanging any different.

Events leading to a lynching to view should be a choice,TV land has just tossed this out in my face,it is of course a choice to view TV,but the news has tossed it out there without warning,a noose around ones neck is not my choice,As it is my choice to view mytube's,the video's do not just start by themselfs,at least I can select what I want to see,TV news gave me no choice....I do not like to see a noose being put around anyone's neck,Saddam was not the problem,it was death being glorified which is not my choice.regardless of who it is or why.
