What Toys Did You Want When You were a Kid? (Game) Just wondering?

I wil start with Chatty Cathy.

Whenever I was younger I wanted to get all of American Girl Dolls. I think I got 5 or 6, but not all of them. Now that I think back on that I realize how ridiculously expensive they were and wonder why I wanted them so badly. They really don't do anything. They just sit there and look pretty.

And you can probably guess about how old I am if you know what an American Girl Doll is. I don't think they've been around that long..haha.

I always wanted a "Sit & Spin" but my mom thought they were too dangerous so I never had one. :(

My neighbor had a Mouse Trap game - always wanted one, but no cigar.

I wanted the Planet of the Apes Treehouse and action figures. I got them. Urko was my favorite.

Make-it-bake-it" I remember them, never got one either. "Sit & Spin" Remeber that to. My cousin had one. We would spin till we were so dizzy!!LOL. I don't remember American Girl Doll. I must have missed it! I remember this game, Mouse Trap game.

Thank you for the opportunity for me to rant and rage all over again about this subject! I am almost 59 years old now and had completely forgotten this! The young people here will not remember a doll baby named Tiny Tears but she was so sweet! You fed her her bottle of water and she cried "real" tears. I asked for her for every birthday and every Christmas. My parents were wonderful people and instead of getting me Tiny Tears for these occasions, they would go out and get me a "better and more expensive" doll baby - only for me to repeat the same request year after bloody year. By the time I was 13 and still asking you would have thought they would have gotten the idea??? Wrong! Finally, at age 14, for my birthday, I explained how badly I really wanted this doll and HAD to have her for my collection and I did get her. Imagine, a 14 year old woman child getting a baby doll! ~Donna

I loved my big wheel and the barbie head that I could style and put make up on.

My younger brothers had the Big Wheel. My oldest daughter had the barbie Head.

Baby Beans -- anyone remember those? Not a beanie baby (decades before!), but a baby doll with a soft bean-bag body (shaped like a baby in footie pjs) and a plastic face. I had mine for a very long time, until I got a rowdy dog . . . and beans ended up all over the house. The disembeanment was not pretty!

I used to play with Barbie Dolls all the time. I also had She-Ra dolls and Glowworms, Smurfs, and Muppet Babie toys. I had lots of board games like Kerplunk, Hungry Hungry Hippos, and Hi-Ho Cheerio. I don't even know if they make things like that anymore.

Hmmm. Krista is around my oldest kids ages. I had to buy those toys!

I loved race tracks and racing my brothers!

My oldest brother had the Hot Wheels tracks. We raced all the time.

I was a child in the 1950's. I had a doll and a doll carriage, paper dolls, colorforms and some skates. Ginny dolls were also popular around that time but I never had one.

I always wanted books... but my parents thought that wasn't a good present (they always gave good toys, though). Now I always give some toys and some books to my kids!

My parents never gave books either. I would have liked that. I always gave my kids books.

Linda, I remember all that stuff. My aunt is 10 years older than I am. She was born in th fifties and she gave me all her old toys.

I never really got Christmas presents. My mother would send boxes and boxes of them down for me and my three brothers. But my "father" would take them and turn them into the store for the money. But, I always got underwear! LOL My memories of Christmas are not that pleasant and I still suffer through the holidays.

However, I always wanted a Light Bright, a Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven, a pair of roller skates, a Cabbage Patch Doll, and some Barbies. I think I should shut up now, like I said not cool memories.

I always wanted the operation game, but never got one.

We were very poor when I was growing up. I wanted a doll. I was about 9 years old before I got one.

I wanted a dino-bot, and as soon as get a little cash together I am going to buy all the original dino-bots from Ebay!

I also wanted a stomper, water dragon and a radio controlled hover craft. In all honesty there were a lot of toys my parents could not afford that all my friends had. Christmas was always the worst part of the year for me because we never got any toys, we got clothes and school stuff. I really hated Santa for not bringing me any toys!

I wanted the barbie Dream House. My real father promised to get me one but never did. I had several Barbie dolls though. Still have them too.

I was lucky, I had alot of baby dolls, and a carriage and cradle that my Nanny (my aunt Rose) bought for me.

I also wanted the Barbie Dream House. I had to use shoe boxes, blankets, blocks, etc for my Barbie house. I was creative.

The only toy I even remember ever wanting was a Thumbelina doll. She was so soft and real looking, and I was so happy when I found her under the tree. I remember getting a lot of gifts each Christmas, but this is the only one I remember.

I can honestly say that I got every toy that I REALLY wanted. We were far from spoiled, but I can't think of one toy that I seriously wanted for Christmas or birthday that I didn't get. Those were the only times of the year that we got toys though.

A purple boom box just like my older sisters, a Ken doll to play dirty with Barbie, some rainbow colored leg warmers so I could match Rainbow Brite, smurf color forms - the snurfs were awesome (though I don't think too highly of Smurfette! Hmmmmph!), a bike - my sisters got one before me because they were older- how unfair is that!, a clubhouse outside - you know - a REAL one - instead of being forced under the pear tree out back(though it did make for good pear bombs when they were overripe:), I always wanted my best friend who was poor and lived beside me to get things,too.

I got very little of what I really wanted. We were very poor. I really wanted a Betsy Wetsy and later a Barbie. Once in a store I saw the cutest, most realistic white stuffed kitten in a basket, and really wanted it. I wanted a chemistry set and my mother gave me two reasons for the negative: I was a girl, and that was a toy only for boys, and I might blow the house up.

I wanted a poodle skirt, a gray felt one, but I got a cheap black one made of some crummy material with roses painted on it. I wanted a crinoline so my skirts would stand out like the other girls' skirts, but I got 3 straight ones instead! My mother just wouldn't listen. She still doesn't.

barbie dolls my forever!i had lot's of toys......but i had fascination 4 everykind of doll..........also i wish if at that time little cars were there........also these days tere's bungee gumping 4 kids!.....and video games....they came when i had already lost intrest in toys!.......i wish i had'that big size teddy!&big soft toys......

I always wanted the game Hungry Hungry Hippos. I was fascinated with this game, but my mother thought that it was too loud.

There were 2 things I wanted. One was a slinky. It was the only thing I was influenced by advertising(thats another story) to ask for.
The other was a bicycle. I had wanted one from age 10 when my older brothers got one. Than, two years later, at Christmas, just days after my 12th birthday, my two younger siblings got NEW bikes. I was completly skipped over! Later, The next summer, though, my uncle bought me a pretty pink one. I had the time of my life with it.....Now, as an adult, I understand the difficulties my parents had in those days. Money was tight, and dad worked hard to do the best he could. For the most part, looking back, I had more than I thought I did:)

I always wanted an easy bake oven, but I never got one.

I had an Easy Bake oven. My little brother used to use it to make himself a snack! He was a brat.

Don't Break the Ice and it's still on my list!

I was the proud owner of a Barbie catamaran but Barbie slept in it too because she couldn't afford her Dream House.
